BMC Announces BarCampESMJohn Dorsey
BarCamp event will focus on Enterprise Systems Management challenges
BMC Software is sponsoring BarCampESM. The user-driven event will allow members of the systems management community to discuss shared challenges and work on solutions. BarCampESM is being organized by BMC's Chief Architect of Open Source Strategy William Hurley (aka whurley), along with Mark Hinkle and
John Willis.
The event will be held in Austin, although the date and venue have not yet been announced. The event is free and open to all. In the BarCamp format, attendees determine the agenda at the meeting and the focus is on participation by everyone. As whurley stated in a blogpost: "It's time for the systems management community to start acting like one. BMC is taking the lead, with the help of several open source projects, bloggers, analyst, and even competitors." So far, attendees include members of the open-source community as well as employees from IBM, Cisco, and of course, BMC. Visit the BarCampESM wiki for more information or to sign up to attend.
